[q&a] twitter thread shenanigans

Once again, I am back at it with these because answering these questions is easier than trying to dissect one of my fics :')
Taken from this thread!
1. Who is your favourite person to write and why? Do you characterise them the same way or differently across your works?
I think, at this point, it will have to be Renjun. Probably because my scorpio moon saw his scorpio moon and decided it would understand him the best. In all honesty though, I think I just like his character a lot, like there is a lot you can do with him. In terms of characterisation, I think I like to emphasise different parts of the same whole depending on the fic, because in the end who he is will depend on what the story needs him to be.
2. Who do you want to write about but haven't? How come you haven't?
HMMM.. I feel like I've written about most members but I guess as a POV... Probably Jaemin? And maybe Yuta. I think they would be fun pov characters to write. The reason why I haven't is probably just comfort I guess? Like I just happen to pick someone else as the mc. Also, I think they make really good, significant, side characters for a lot of my preferred main characters so they end up in that role a lot :')
3. Do you like including members from other groups?
When there is a need? Generally, NCT (and SVT) is such a big group that its rare for me to need to pull in someone else as a side character although I do love it when they do, especially when it comes to NCSVT chinaline because I adore them and their friendship wayyyy too much.
4. If you had to condense your style, your brand, the essence of your works down to 3 things what would they be?
Descriptive, renjun, vivid. (Yes renjun is a brand right now because he's appeared in my non-nct fics LOL)
5. What season are your works? (if not literally set around dates, in what season do you envision things occurring?)
Fall or winter because I am just projecting my love for the cold and the need to get out of this constant heat into everything I write. I also love describing them wearing jackets, which would not make sense in summer. BUT, that being said, I do have a few fics set in warmer climates. I think.....
6. Do you reread any of your own works? If so which is your favourite? If not, why not?
Very, very, incredibly rarely. Because I will always find something I dislike about it when I read it (its something I'm trying to work on but it's been hard). I do have a few that I have reread though, mainly Ashes to Ashes and darling, will you walk me home because ashes is just my brand of everything and darling is what I consider the most difficult piece I've ever written.
7. Have you ever written something you would like to remix?
YES. I've probably talked about this a lot but Chorus Mortem!! I really, really want to write it from Yuta's perspective and what his and Jaehyun's lives were like during that one period of time. It's like an itch I haven't been able to scratch yet and it bothers me constantly.
8. Which of your works do you think best portrays your style?
Honestly, I think most of my later works because I think it's taken me this entire year to like settle into a specific style. So, right now probably vos currere venas and dream a little dream but the aforementioned ashes to ashes is another really good contender.
9. Which tense do you prefer, past or present?
This is such a difficult question because, I think, innately I prefer past tense but I've written most of my works in present. I think present is easier to write in but I prefer the tone that past gives? I know this is a non-answer but this is it for me I guess (I do want to get back into writing in past tense though).
10. Do you prefer dark and gritty concepts or more lighthearted works? Is this preference different when reading and writing?
Definitely... darker concepts but not so much themes? Like my preferred genres are fantasy, magical realism and sci-fi and I prefer the darker versions of those genres than the lighter ones. That being said, I don't really like writing heavy themes just darker settings I guess? I prefer this in both reading and writing BUT I will not say no to lighter things, and some times you just need a good, light-hearted slice of life fic, you know? :)
11. What subjects are the most fun for you to write?
If you're referring to genres then those mentioned above (fantasy, magic, scifi, dystopia) but if you're talking about like tropes? Hurt/comfort is like my absolute favourite because it's really just me projecting my need/want to be held by someone LMAO. Other than that, I do also enjoy writing established relationships and platonic soulmatery/friendships (for some reason my best friend pairs are always more fun to write, go figure).
12. Which one of your works would you most like to be known for?
Honestly, I think being known for something gives me like a really bad case of imposter syndrome/overall fear that I could never live up to that again. But, I guess if I have to choose... Probably my latest few Little Wonder fics and also, hopefully, Children of Shadow (mainly because I want it to be something I am proud of).
13. How many wips do you have right now?
In terms of ongoing works - 2? Children of Shadow and Beyond the Stars (have you noticed I like 3-word titles yet LOL). But! I do also have my secret santa fic due but I don't know if you can consider it a wip since I haven't actually started it ;) I also have a couple of other ideas that I want to write but I have them shelved til next year because the brain needs a break.
14. Any writing goals for 2021?
Honestly, to just keep writing. Maybe try to focus less on engagement and more on whether I enjoy what I've put out. Also, probably time management? OH!! Also no more fests. I want to focus on my own ideas for a while :)
